Constructivism in the Science Classroom: Assessing Students’ Perception of Constructivism

Distinct to today's society is rapid change, exemplified in the swift demands that confront professionals and working life. As this ripple challenges educational set up mold competent individuals, changes occur as education paradigm shifts. One such change Constructivism which asserts learning be an active process where learners actively build on their experiences knowledge. Students' perceptions of classroom environment are significant should interest teachers. The study employed a Constructivist Learning Environment Survey was responded by163 first-year college students. It intended assess how students perceive Science class taught using approach. utilized Statistical Package for Social Sciences software analyze data. Findings revealed perceived "often" Constructivism. Likewise, five dimensions identified study, four were regarded by science class, highest often dimension being Student Negotiation. Contrastingly, only "seldom" scored lowest Shared Control. Thus, it resulted there no relationship between teacher's teaching experience use constructivist practices.
